« Superb and catchy poppunk with loads of melodies and a hint of emo »
Lokeren based punkrock outifit that was started up by a bunch of local kids, inspired by bands like Lagwagon, Stoned and the likes. Writing punkrocksongs with a good and catchy melody, personal lyrics and heartbreaking chorusses was their goal and after releasing a demo tape and playing a whole bunch of shows, the band got picked up by Funtime Records. The band headed for the Midas studio and recorded an eight song mini album ‘once in a lifetime’ that saw the light of day in the summer of 2000. A200 Club started playing more and more, did a UK tour and started working on a full length album, to be released in 2001. Right after the recordings of that full length, drummer/vocalist Stijn decided to leave the band and try something new with his own band As I Am. The rest of the band decides that A200 Club isn’t a band anymore without the participation of Stijn and the band split up in 2001. The story is over. And the recordings of the full length album were never officialy released. If you’re curious about what you’ve missed… you can download the songs for free on the A200 Club website.
The debut release ‘once in a lifetime’ is already long sold out and will not be repressed. But we surely encourage you to check out the new projects of the A200 Club members… As I Am, Phoebus, Townsville…
