Circle

Biography

« 21st century rock’n roll for the kids ! »
Landen based outfit Circle git together wehn bands like Razzia and Kermits broke up. Some local punkrock/hardcore kids decided they wanted to do something different, something of their own. Inspired by ‘rock’ by all means, they started rehearsing and soon developed a quite unique sound. Rocking hardcore, influenced by emo, metal and good rock’n roll. Circle made their first step into the world of releases, when they got invited by PN, Reply and Exit Nineteen to to take part in a split cd, released by funtime records. Soon after the release, the band got overwhelmed by positive response and started playing out a lot. Becoming better in what they did and not hesitating to pass the borders of the often too narrow minded hardcore scene, they wrote a collection of songs that were recorded at Dé Studio, Asse for the release of their debut full length album. ‘Radiostation infiltration’ was released in march of 2000 and soon grew out to a beloved album in general and a Belgian classic for sure. More concerts and more exposure was the result and the band git various offers from other labels, who suddenly seemed to discover the qualities of the band. At the beginning of 2001, circle decided to start working with the Gent based Genet records and this resulted in the release of the mini cd ‘The day Elvis shook his ass’. A great cdep, filled with rocking hardcore and characterised by that typical Circle sound, also known as ‘21st century rock’n roll’ . More shows and tours are the result and in 2002 , Circle starts working on their new opus, called ‘Vaudeville’. A few months before the release of that album , Circle teams up with the Dutch Reflections Records for the cd version of Vaudeville and Funtime Records for the vinyl release of that same album…
