Today, FIVE DAYS OFF have confirmed their appearance at funfest for their one and only show in 2008, takin' a break afterwards!

Five Days Off gaat een tijdje een pauze inlassen, maar niet alvorens ze de grondvesten van hun 'home scene' nog eens laten daveren!
Op zaterdag 4 oktober zullen ze het beste van zichzelf geven op het funtime festival in de klinker in Aarschot. U wordt verwacht voor de singalongs en crazy moves!!!

2 NEW BANDS CONFIRMED FOR FUNFEST SATURDAY
Both SIXTOYS and RAFFLESIA have confirmed their spot on saturday the 4th of this year's FUNTIME FESTIVAL.
Sixtoys will play a kind of 'avant premiere' set for their new album, released in october, so all you people get a live preview of the new songs.
And believe us, they're worth the listening!
Rafflesia is one of the hardest working metalcore bands of Belgium. They're always on tour or playing a show somewhere in Belgium or the Netherlands.
If you dig Heaven Shall Burn and the likes, you will love Rafflesia...
Antillectual and Exit on the Left already confirmed for saturday and friday the 3th of oct (Funfest day 1) is already complete with Musth, Transit, Soon, The Sedan Vault and Amen Ra...

FUNTIME FESTIVAL 2008 dates and first BANDS!!!!
It's about time to announce the dates of this year's FUNTIME FESTIVAL, so you can mark those two days in your agenda :-)
FUNFEST 2008 will be held on the 3th and the 4th of october at the fine KLINKER club (www.jcdeklinker.be ), Demervallei, 3200 Aarschot. Just like the former edition, we will offer you some of the best Belgian and Dutch punkrock, hardcore, emo and indierock.
We also got a first slice of confirmed artists already...

Funtime Festival says 'thank you very much'!
We want to thank all the people (bands, kids, shitworkers) that made this year's edition of the annual funtime festival one of the best ever! A super atmosphere, great shows and a completely packed house for two days...what more can one wish?! We hope all of you enjoyed the funfest weekend as much as we did and all left to say, is this : 'we hope to see you on the next funtime show...take care!!!'
For all our Dutch speaking readers, we got this message in Dutch :
"Een oprechte en welgemeende dankuwel en thumbs up aan iedereen die van deze funtime fest ιιn van de beste - zoniet de beste - editie maakte : medewerkers, bands en bezoekers (die alledrie vaak al jaren hun schouders zetten onder de diverse funtime shows-, label-, radio- en andere activiteiten)!
Het was een fantastisch weekend met op beide dagen een volgepakte zaal, zeer coole shows van zowat alle bands en een geweldige sfeer!
Cool ook om te zien dat er massaal veel volk kwam opdagen voor een haast uitsluitend Belgische affiche en terecht, want we mogen onze Belgische scene best wel een dik vet compliment geven : veel variatie, veel superbands (funfest zou 10 dagen moeten duren om ze allemaal op het podium te zetten) enz. en een scene vol met toegewijde (jonge en oude(re)) 'kids' (die term is aan een 'upgrade' toe:)-...
Enfin, ik kan hier nog wel even doorgaan, maar het was gewoon zalig om te zien dat alles waardoor en -voor we 11 jaar geleden begonnen zijn met funtime magazine en 10 jaar geleden met het organiseren van concerten enzovoort, dit weekend wederom bewees van nog steeds springlevend te zijn...

Also some HOT NEWS...the fantastic dutch band TENEMENT KIDS (nl) are replacing Scarrots (who unfortunately had to cancel their show at funfest cause their drummer can't make it on saturday).
For those not familiar with Tenement Kids, they play great and rocking punkrock with a raw feel, somewhere inbetween Hot Water Music, Dag Nasty and As Friends rust and the likes...

Sadly enough, we have had some cancellations for this year's funtime festival.
Both Death Before Disco and Findel had to cancel their shows at this year's edition.
DBD just split up and Findel had some troubles within the band, resulting in cancelling all their upcoming shows.
The good news is that we found some great bands to replace them.
We'rewolves has been added to the line up. We'rewolves arose out of the ashes of Cast-Down/Officer Jones ahpcp and brings great and energetic music. If you imagine a mix between Thin Lizzy or other classic hardrockin' bands and some good dose of Doomriders, you get a picture of what they sound like.
The other replacing band is Holland's most notorious hardcore outfit Malkovich. They recently unleashed their new album through Go Kart music and everyone who already witnessed their live performance, knows that you get a whirling show, full of entertainment!

FUNTIME FESTIVAL 2007 EDITION
This year, we're celebrating 10 years of funtime concerts. From the very first funtime show in the spring of 1997 (with bands like Pridebowl, Astream, Billy Liar, PN, Five days off and Not That Straight) until this very day, we've always tried (and still do) to give a lot of opportunities to young bands. Besides that, we've always focused on the talent we have in our own small country and we've seen a lot of great bands rock out on various funtime stages. Times have changed and a lot of people's faces have changed (bands as well as audience, although quite some old farts are still very alive and kicking!:)-), but the scene in Belgium these days is more active and more varied then ever.
That's why we decided to do something special with this great scene we have to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Instead of doing a '10 year funtime concerts' show, we choose to do a kind of 'Belgium' edition of the annual Funtime Festival. Which means almost all bands playing this year's edition are Belgian! No waffles, chocolate or whatever for this party (altyhough both are much appreciated gifts:)-), but mainly Belgian hardcore, punkrock, emo and metal and all this for the cheapest price possible.
