History

Funtime Records is an independent hardcore- and punkrocklabel, operating from the centre of Belgium.
Being open minded, being dedicated and 'in love with punk- and hardcoremusic' are somehow three keywords of our label philosophy.
The label was started up by some people of Funtime magazine out of the need of a whole bunch of motivated and talented bands who didn't seem to find a label, willing to support them, their ideas and their music. The first Funtime releases were sponsored efforts of bands like Billy Liar, Homer, Charlie Don't Surf, Circle, Not That Straight and a whole bunch of other bands. The label soon started booming and after some hectic years of releasing and distributing records, Funtime Records was transformed from a supporting and financing label into a realtime recordlabel. Enter 2000, the year we took a new start with a great deal of varied and interesting releases, ranging from the intimate and melancholic emorock of Cornflames and the intense newskool of bands like PN and Reply to the fastpaced punkrock of bands like Five Days Off, Facing Down and Not That Straight.
The future is wide open and -while staying true to the principals of the very beginning- Funtime Records is ready for the new millennium with a great collection of upcoming releases.
